Stray & Feral Cat Rescue

Based across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, English Barn Cats is a dedicated rescue committed to giving stray and feral cats a vital second chance at life. We are entirely volunteer-run and funded solely by the generosity of public donations, meaning every penny raised goes directly toward the welfare of the cats in our care.
Our mission is to rescue vulnerable cats from the streets and provide them with a safe haven through our network of foster carers. We ensure every cat receives the necessary veterinary treatment and compassionate care they deserve. To ensure they have the best start in their new homes, all adopted cats are neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed, and deflead before homing.
Beyond homing, we provide a crucial lifeline to stray colonies throughout Lancashire and Greater Manchester. By feeding these colonies and implementing TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programmes, we work tirelessly to ensure cats are neutered and vaccinated, preventing the local population from spiralling out of control.

We take in strays from the streets, who would otherwise struggle to survive, trapping them or working with feeders to set up a routine.

Cats on the streets often have illnesses and weakened immune systems. We ensure they see a vet and nurse them back to full health.

We are foster-based, so cats in our care get to experience a real home. From here, we assess their needs and home them.

Colonies are trying to survive. EBC tends to them, ensuring they have food and are neutered where possible.

We Trap Neuter Release to ensure ferals can’t add to the breeding on the streets, and feel the health benefits of neutering.
As a volunteer-led organisation, we rely on our local community to continue this life-saving work. Whether through fostering, adopting, or donating, your support helps us transform the lives of Lancashire’s street cats.
